Goal: To provide a network and support system for women in natural resources and environmental fields.

Objectives:

  • Produce a quarterly newsletter to reach the appropriate audiences, including members and other interested individuals/organizations.

  • Sponsor an annual conference showcasing the organization and reaching members and potential members.

  • Sponsor quarterly meetings for the Iowa IWINR affiliate.

  • Find leaders in other areas and create an action plan for creating new affiliates.

  • Update and maintain an organizational directory and distribute it to members at the annual conference and upon request.

  • Develop and maintain an IWINR Homepage on the internet.

  • Develop a mentoring program. Create a mentor list to distribute to organizations and new members who may utilize it.

  • Identify social and service project activities.

  • Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of the objectives in this goal.

Goal: To promote the entrance, retention, and advancement of women in the natural resource and environmental careers. Outdoor Journey

Objectives:

  • Offer job-opening opportunities via a job link section on our web page.

  • Sponsor the “Outdoor Journey for Girls,” ages 12-15.

  • Communicate about careers to high school and college students through our mentoring program and other service projects.

  • Create an email list serve to monitor issues concerning women in the workforce.

  • Develop student involvement in the conference, affiliate chapter meetings and other activities.

  • Develop networking opportunities with girls’ organizations.

  • Periodically evaluation the effectiveness of the objectives in this goal.

Goal: To promote opportunities and training for the development of environmentally responsible attitudes and behaviors.

Objectives:

  • Sponsor the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop.

  • Provide information to members on public policy issues and topics in natural resources and the environment.

  • Participate in coalitions on environmental issues.

  • Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of the objectives in this goal.
